For the largest division within Höganäs AB, Powder Metallurgy Technologies (PMT), we are looking for a
VP Finance
About the role
This role is responsible for ensuring that the Division PMT achieves its operational results by leading and coordinating all related activities. You will provide efficient, reliable, and proactive financial and business control support, working closely with and supporting the Division President, the leadership team, and other stakeholders to deliver the insights and tools needed for informed decision-making.
You will lead the Division’s main business steering processes, such as strategic planning, business planning, target setting, and forecasting. These processes are essential to guide the Division's growth and ensure alignment with its objectives. A key focus is to actively contribute to the development and implementation of the Division’s business strategy, helping to achieve goals and bring the strategic vision to life. In this role you will lead and develop direct reports (solid line) and a network of controllers for the individual sites within the PMT division (dotted lines). The division employs 1,100 FTEs, has an annual turnover of approximately 8 billion SEK, and operates production units in Sweden, the USA, and China.
You will report to the President of Division PMT and be part of the division's management team. The role involves approximately 20-25 travel days per year. The role is located at the head office in Höganäs, Sweden.
Examples of tasks and responsibilities:
- People management and compliance. You will ensure that your team have access to essential information and skill development opportunities. Implementing and adhering to occupational health, safety and environmental regulations, ensuring that all required permits and certifications are up to date.
- Strategic Financial Management and Reporting. Accountable for preparing and analyzing the Division’s consolidated monthly and quarterly financial results. This includes creating comprehensive reports for the Division Leadership Team, Group Management, and the Board of Directors, with close collaboration with group finance and coordination of board materials. Market intelligence and ERP system integration are also central to tracking financial performance.
- Financial Planning and Forecasting. Leads the Division’s primary financial processes, including quarterly forecasts, annual target-setting, and the creation, communication, and tracking of a 3-Year Business Plan. Ensures transparency in financial results and analysis, contributing to a strong forward-looking business plan that meets the Division's long-term goals. Involves active collaboration with other global sites and in-depth analysis of factors such as inventory and currency effects.
- Investment Management and CAPEX Analysis. Responsibility for the Division CAPEX process, providing ongoing analysis of capital expenditure projects. This includes leading CAPEX planning and prioritization, as well as performing continuous evaluations of CAPEX investments and currency effects. Additionally, the role involves contributing to M&A processes and ensuring alignment with strategic growth objectives.
- Business Intelligence and Process Ownership. Serves as the process and tool owner for Business Intelligence models, ensuring continuous development of analytical tools that enhance transparency and support decision-making across the Division. This includes integration with ERP systems and coordination of market intelligence to support strategic insights.
- Compliance and Collaboration. Responsible for ensuring adherence to internal directives and compliance with relevant legal standards, including health, safety, and environmental regulations. Maintains all necessary permits and certifications and works closely with global sites and group finance to streamline processes and align with corporate standards.
About you
We are looking for an experienced finance leader with analytical and strategic skills and a strong result orientation. You have international experience, preferably within manufacturing and process industry. You are business minded and thriving in a complex manufacturing environment where you are a strong contributor to the development and implementation of the business strategy. Additionally, you possess excellent communication skills, proactively drive improvements and have the courage to challenge the status quo.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration or similar
- At least 8 years of experience as business controller preferably in an international manufacturing environment, with ability to communicate financial information in a structured and comprehensive way
- Proven track record of leading change management and business development
- Experienced user of BI-tools and reporting tools as well as Excel and PowerPoint
- Höganäs operates on M3 and uses Qlik for BI applications. Experience with these systems is an advantage, but not a requirement
- Fluent in English
